Maldini: Milan remain the best

Paolo Maldini believes that despite the arrival of Fabio Capello at Juve, the reigning Italian Champions remain the team to beat.
“Capello will certainly be a central force in their rebuilding project,” he told newspaper ‘Tuttosport’, “and this choice as Coach is a strong signal of their intent this season. But Milan are still the team to beat, because we are the Champions.”
Juventus ended the campaign empty-handed and have brought in Italy’s most successful tactician to turn their fortunes around immediately.
“The news that Capello was moving to Turin took me by surprise,” confessed the legendary defender. “To be honest, I don’t think anyone was expecting it.”
Former Juve boss Carlo Ancelotti knows the club well, but he was also shocked by this change of direction.
“I didn’t see this coming at all,” admitted the Milan Coach. “Both Capello and Juventus are reliable, so this combination could be very successful indeed.”
