Portugal midfielder Manuel Rui Costa, who passed from being national villain to national hero in just four days, is convinced he can play together with Deco in his national side’s starting formation.
“According to me technically speaking there is no reason why Deco and I have to be considered as replacements of one another. The same thing happens at Milan with Kakà, but everyone should remember that until March Kakà and I were playing together in every match,” said Rui Costa.
Rui Costa is not mad at coach Scolari for keeping him out the starting line-up against Russia, but he was very let down by what happened after the loss to Greece.
”I was made the scapegoat for the opening day loss, and its hard to forget something like this,” he said.
Rui Costa then spoke about his future with Milan.
”I have never thought of leaving Milan. It’s my team, I have fantastic team-mates, and a great management team. Therefore why should I leave?,” he pointed out.
