I have no first-hand data about their toxicity, but I have noticed they are much more fecund and adaptable to various environmental stress factors (including household pesticides) than L. mactans.

Latrodectus geometricus tend to be more shy and retiring less likely to
bite than other Latrodectus.The venom however more toxic is delivered in
lesser amounts thus often side effects are usually lessened.If handled or
disturbed in the web, female spiders characterisically drop into a ball
shape and remain contracted for a few moments.Venom studies in Europe in
the 1970's confirm the toxicity levels.Lgeometricus is far outsourcing its
native habitat and is quite common in the south and some parts of the

One of the faculty members in my new department asked about brown widow
spiders, which apparently are common in this part of Texas. I thought
they were less toxic than the black widows, but came across some state
extension reports that state brown widow venom is more toxic according to
GB Edwards.
So I thought I'd ask for a confirmation here - I expect to be pummeled
with poisonous spider questions in my new home, and want my information
to be accurate.
