Dear friends,
We've recently learned that the Ashokan Field Campus is likely to change hands in the next year. Circle of Life Camp (a camp for diabetic children) has offered to purchase Ashokan from the State University of New York at New Paltz. Circle of Life has asked the college for up to a year for fund raising.
We've been assured that our programs for Summer 2006 are secure at Ashokan, but we're now forming a committee to explore our future possibilities at Ashokan, or elsewhere if need be.
Our twenty six years of Fiddle & Dance Camps have forged many deep bonds between people and sent ripples of peace and understanding out into the world. We'd like to use this moment as an opportunity to reorganize in a way that will help us carry on the good work that we've all begun.
There are many possibilities ahead. We're putting together a vision for the future and inviting those with ideas, expertise and the time and energy to actively lend support, to write us at fut-@ashokan.org.
