Subject: Asp4Hs Site Updates - 7/17/00

Thanks for signing up for the ASP4HS announcements mailing list.
It's been a little while since I've sent out an update since
this spring has seen slower submission of new add-ins. Still,
there are some interesting new or updated things at ASP4Hs.

Some new additions and updates (2/15/00 - 7/17/00)

-----------------------------------
Add-on's Added
-----------------------------------

- Nate Weiss's JavaScript Function browser was renamed to Script
Explorer and improved in a number of ways to better support ASP
editing. This script gives you a quick way to look at all the
functions in all your open files, jump to one, insert function
calls, or add a comment block to the top of your file to
enumerate all the functions in that file. You can keep your
include files open and have easy access to all common code.
Useful for client-side and server-side j[ava]script or
vbscript.

- Keith Collison's great AspDataBaseVtm has been updated. Many
new improvements and additions to this excellent example of what
can be done in code generation with VTML.

- Joel Mueller has upgraded his AddRespWrite2 script for
converting HTML to Response.Write code. It's pretty powerful
now, can use either J[ava]script or Vbscript code, and can even
deal with included <%= var %>

- John Finlayson-Fife of allaire wrote a togglemappings script
that lets you quickly toggle server-mappings on and off.

- I wrote SelectScripts, a set of quick scripts that act on
selected text.

- Added a listing for Chris Bradford's HS Template Tool. This
isn't a new script, but it is powerful and useful.

- Damien Maclennan released a new and improved ASPsnips_DM
snippet set.

-----------------------------------
Miscellaneous
-----------------------------------

- A number of users submitted good suggestions to the
"HomeSite/ASP Top Priority Enhancement Requests," Wishlist,
and Tips pages.

- Added a number of new tips/faqs. Too many to list here,
check 'em out on the Tips page.

-----------------------------------
Links Added
-----------------------------------

- XSLAtHome, a new project developing an XSL editor-type
extension to HomeSite

- PerlScript resources for those who would like to use
Perl as the scripting language in ASP.

- MS HTML Help Compiler resources

- WSH scripting resources

- various Security resource links.

- various useful Allaire articles and KB notes.

Thanks again for signing up. I hope the site and the add-ons are
useful to you. Please remember: The fundamental idea of Asp4Hs
is to Exchange help and HS add-on's. So please think about
whether you have anything, even requests or ideas, that might
help others... and send 'em in...
