I guess we need to reevaluate our contract with CFI. Obviously, can we make
the event joint? The June soltice is quite important to Atheists and they
need to understand we don't appreciate giving up our celebration days. Can
they schedule the speaker for Saturday?

| | Please be advised that Bob Ladendorff of CFI/West has contacted us and
requested that we cancel or reschedule our June AU general meeting in order
to allow CFI/W to present a special speaker they want to fly in from the
East Coast that weekend.
Our June event has been scheduled to be our Summer Solstice, with no
speaker but with music, board games and a chili cookoff.
Margie held initial discussions with Bob today; we need to follow up with a
more considered response tomorrow. Bob did suggest that perhaps we could
move our meeting to Saturday, June 30 as a possible option.
As you know, CFIW dropped a similar bombshell on us for our February
meeting. We responded to that request by making it a joint event.
Board thoughts on the matter would be most appreciated.
