The Naval Air Station Wildwood - http://www.usnasw.org/ - is one of my
favorite aviation museums, and an opportunity has arisen for the folks
on this list to help in its preservation, but you have to act fast -
deadline is Oct 31! (Cold Spring Village is nice too). The following
messages provide the details (and no, it won't cost you anything but a
couple of mouse clicks.) This is a terrific opportunity for NASW and the
folks on this list could easily put it over the top. Thanks for helping.

HANGAR #1 AND HISTORIC COLD SPRING VILLAGE NEED YOU!!
Hello! It has recently come to our attention that The Salvatores are
nearly 500 votes behind Fort Delaware in the online voting described
below. We really need your support and encourage you to vote by clicking
on the following link www.sustainabletourismawards.com
The voting site has two categories. Please be aware that in order for
your vote to be valid, it is necessary to also cast a vote in the
Conservation category as well your Preservation category vote for the
Salvatores. Voting ends on Friday, 10/31/03.
Thank you again!
Dear Friend,
In response to their outstanding efforts to preserve and promote
tourism at Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum and Historic Cold
Spring Village, Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Salvatore are one of three national
finalists from over 100 nominees for a Smithsonian Magazine/TCF Award in
Preservation and Tourism.
The award is a cash prize of $20,000. It would be shared equally
by the Aviation Museum and the Village. NAS Wildwood’s $10,000 award
would provide much-needed support to the hangar restoration project.
Additionally, both sites would be featured in Smithsonian Magazine.
The winner will be selected by online voting only. Please visit the
website at www.sustainabletourismawards.com and, if you feel it would be
appropriate, cast your vote.
Thank you again for your friendship and support.
Anne M. Glowacz
Director, NAS Wildwood Aviation Museum
