MULTIPLE healing testimonies from Lakeland reported by secular newspaper	Awesomepower

The Observer interviewed eight people who said God healed them through, or
in a way related to, the Lakeland, Fla., services being led by Canadian
evangelist Todd Bentley. Here are their stories:
Brian Burgee
Age: 55
Resides: Tampa, Fla.
Malady: Almost completely deaf in right ear.
Healing: Burgee, pastor of The Rock Church of Tampa Bay, said he lost
hearing in the ear on May 27, 1974, when he and others were robbing a gas
station. He said he was high on heroin and a friend fired a gunshot close to
his head, bursting his ear drum.
Five days later, Burgee said he accepted Jesus Christ and was delivered from
his drug addiction.
Burgee was attending Lakeland services this May 27 when Bentley announced
that God told him someone was present who had been deaf in their right ear
for 34 years. After Bentley prayed for him

One of his church members, Lynn Coffey, said Burgee told the congregation
about his deafness in a sermon about six months ago.
During a Wednesday night service, about 24 hours after Burgee was in
Lakeland, the church was shown a video of his healing.
Coffey said the place erupted.
"It was a-hoopin' and a-cryin' and a-hollerin' time of joy," she said.
Coffey said the church has caught fire since that night, but that Burgee's
demeanor has remained constant.
"He's such a humble, wonderful man," she said. "If there is any difference
in him, it's only in his excitement for what God is doing in our church and
the Body of Christ."

Kimberly Cunningham Age: 15
Resides: Plant City, Fla.
Malady: Jaw out of place. Surgery, involving breaking the jaw, needed for
repair.
Healing: Kerry Cunningham said her daughter Kim had gone to the Lakeland
revival about 20 times, but was at home watching on the internet and not
even thinking about getting healed when God touched her.
"I wasn't even praying for my jaw that particular night, and the glory was
coming through the air waves so powerfully it hit me and I fell on the
ground and couldn't get up," Kimberly said in a written testimony.
She was on the floor for nearly six hours and didn't get up until about 2
a.m., her mother said.
Previously, she said she had an overbite, her bottom teeth weren't in line
and the pallet in her mouth was too small. But she said she felt God pulling
her jaw out and that it is now properly aligned.
She said she has the before-and-after x-rays from her orthodontist, Dr. Leo
Chin, to prove it. She gave them to Bentley.
She said Chin was almost speechless when he examined her after her healing.
Chin did not respond to multiple calls from The Observer. The Cunningham
family authorized him to talk to the Observer, and he was faxed a copy of
her written testimony. It included Kimberly recounting that he stuttered to
explain the change in her jaw and told her she'd had a "major growth spurt."

Jillian Eccles Age: 29 Resides: Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada
Malady: Kidney birth defect. Only one kidney remaining and needed a
transplant to continue living.
Healing: For weeks, Julian Eccles' family members had been tested to see if
their kidney would be the match she needed for a transplant.
"For all intents and purposes, my body was dying," she said.
She bought a plane ticket and flew with her mother to Lakeland, hoping for a
miracle.
On May 27, she was sitting in the audience when Bentley spoke of a woman
with kidney problems. He said it was a birth defect and that the right
kidney was dead and the left one was deformed.
"He was completely, 100 percent accurate," said Eccles, 29 and a mother of
three. "He may as well have said, 'Jillian, come up here.' "It felt kind of
like electricity go down on me and like somebody threw a blanket over me, a
blanket of peace."
Bentley prayed for her and, since then, Eccles said her symptoms are gone.
She said she has undergone subsequent medical scans, but hasn't been given
the results yet.
She said she no longer has a metallic taste in her mouth common with kidney
problems. She said her energy and skin tone have returned, and that wrinkles
around her eyes are gone. Just before going to Lakeland, she said her blood
pressure medication was tripled.
Since returning, she said her blood pressure has been normal and she hasn't
needed the medicine.
But she said the best change is in her spiritual life.
"The healing is great, but the rest of it is so much better," she said. "I
am so much closer to God."
Once she gets a doctor to confirm her healing, Eccles said she'd send the
records to the Observer.
"I don't need the paper to know what God is doing in my life and my body,
but I understand other people want to see it," she said. "And I'll get it. I
promise I will.
"This, to me, is all about glorifying God. As hard of a struggle as it has
been my whole life, if the only reason I had it was so I could be healed and
bring glory to God . I feel kind of honored that I'm given the opportunity
to share in this kind of manner.
"I want everybody to know what happened. Sometimes it takes something
tangible before somebody can actually see to know what God can do."

Imojean Hayse
Age: 66
Resides: Caneyville, Ky.
Malady: Six golf ball-sized hernias on her stomach.
Healing: Hayse said she felt warm all over her body when Bentley prayed for
her. She said he gently touched her head and she immediately fell backward.
"I couldn't begin to tell you what happened to me," she said. "I've never,
never fallen backward like that before."
Doctors had told her they couldn't remove her hernias because it would kill
her.
Since returning from Lakeland, she said tests have shown the hernias are
gone.
"I didn't tell them what happened until after they examined me," she said.
"When I told him, my doctor said, 'I believe in that.' "

Tracey Lee
Age: 34
Resides: Moundville, Ala.
Malady: Swollen pancreas and a quarter-sized spot on her liver.
Healing: Tracey Lee hadn't gone to Lakeland, but her pastor had.
The spot on her liver concerned her deeply because that was the same initial
symptom that surfaced with her best friend, who later died of liver cancer.
Her pastor and others prayed for her during a prayer meeting, and she prayed
for herself.
She said a recent CT scan showed the pancreas had returned to normal size
and the spot on her liver was gone.

Robbie Moore

Age: 67

Resides: Lawrenceville, Ga.

Malady: Two cancerous lumps on her left clavical and breast.

Healing: Moore said her doctor has confirmed that the cancer disappeared
since she went to Lakeland. However, a spot was found on her liver. She
believes God will heal that, too.

She said her trip to Lakeland was almost beyond description.

"I went down there sick as a dog and I came back feeling like a million
bucks," she said. "All the people were of one accord, loving Jesus and
loving each other. The whole country should get a shot of this."

George Shroyer
Age: 44
Resides: Clearwater, Fla.
Malady: Almost completely blind in his right eye, a left glass eye, and
amputed legs that weren't the same length, causing discomfort when he walked
with prosthetics.
Healing: Shroyer said a lingering staph infection caused his physical
afflictions over the past eight years.
He said he was attending the Lakeland revival with friends recently when he
suddenly felt extremely hot - "hot to the touch."
Suddenly, he said he could see perfectly out of his right eye and could see
light and shadows out of his glass eye.
He walked to the podium and told Bentley, who was ecstatic.

"Never have I heard of a glass eye seeing," Bentley exclaimed. "Oh my God! A
glass eyeball can see!"
Shroyer also said one of his legs grew enough to even their length to
improve his walking.
Shroyer's friend Don Abblett of Clearwater was with Shroyer that night and
was shocked that Shroyer was able to walk to his car after the evening
services. Previously, Abblett said Shroyer wouldn't have been able to see
well enough to walk at night without help.
"You can't fake that," said Abblett.

Kayla Wilson Age: 16
Resides: Fort Mill, S.C.
Malady: Born with bowed femurs. Her knees were turned inward and she was
pigeon-toed, causing problems in her back.
Healing: Wilson attends school at Morningstar Ministries in Fort Mill.
Some male students from the school went to Lakeland recently and drove
through the night to make it back to class the next morning.
During morning chapel, Wilson asked God to heal her and a friend prayed for
her.
"The minute she put her hands there, I started feeling burning sensations
throughout my legs and hips," she said. "My hips started popping and
realigning, all by themselves. It was strange, but I just let it flow.
"My ankles were also popping. I was curious what was going on with me. I
pulled my pants' leg up and my knees were completely straight. They never
had been in my life. God completely healed me, just like that."
Because her bones were realigned, Wilson said her skin moved, repositioning
some of her scars.
Morningstar pastor Rick Joyner said news of the healing lit a fire at the
school and church, resulting in nightly services. He said he believes it was
sparked by what's going on in Lakeland.
He said everybody in the class had been well aware of Kayla's physical
problems and were amazed by her healing. He called it an "undeniable
miracle."
"No man could do this kind of thing," he said. "It immediately ignited our
kids."
