Thanks much. Agents sometimes make things up- Dublin/Pleasanton has
handmade (misspelled) signs that say the wide gate can only be used
for bikes, luggage, and wheelchairs. And I've seen other hand-made
signs.

A person who uses a folding bicycle on BART was told by a station
agent he couldn't take is folded bicycle on the escalator. The
person tried to reason with the station agent explaining this BARTtv:

I just received a call from BART Operations Supervisor Jim Ross
confirming that folded bicycles are indeed allowed on BART
escalators. A memo has now been sent to all station agents to ensure
awareness of this policy. We can discuss more at the Task Force
meeting, but wanted to give you a heads up now.
