RE: [Ebbc-Talk] Progress on new Berkeley Bike Station?  robert-@ebbc.org
 Nov 03, 2009 10:53 PST

I share your concerns about timely delivery. One correction, the lease did
not begin until after the December 2008 agreement with Berkeley (See: Jan
2009 rideOn). I should be able to report on the progress later this week
following a meeting with BART, the operator, and the architect to evaluate
parking systems and layout.

I guess I have growing concern that this project will end up late and/or
over budget. I put the question to BART officials last week, and have yet to
hear an answer.

Remember that the lease on the new Berkeley bike station was signed on July
1, 2009 and that BART's been paying rent for that space ever since. Doug
Faunt is right to be wondering exactly what's going on. I am wondering too.

Audio somewhere in here, sorry I don't have the time to provide a time
stamp, but it's early in the meeting:

 Hi,
What's the current official status of the new Berkeley Bike Station?
Nothing seems to be happening at the site, 2210 Shattuck, I think?
