Dear all,
The Benchathlon is moving ahead! We have made progress in different
directions for setting up a generic benchmark for Content based image
retrieval (CBIR) systems.
We now have a collection of images that is totally free of charges. We
surely intend to complete it and if happen to be able to help in this
direction, this is very welcome!
We have been designing a simple annotation tool in order to help
annotating this collection. In a first stage, only a subset will be
annotated with a restricted vocabulary. We are looking for volunteers
for either annotating or help in defining the annotation procedures...
A harness that will enable the standard connection of any CBIR tool to
the common framework. We are also defining and implementing performance
measures.
A basic complete system will be presented at Photonics West in January
2002, San Jose.
Before that, we need some contribution in different areas including the
ones listed above.
