Ontological projects?  Neil Gunther

Does anyone know more details about either of the following projects:

1) http://www.opencyc.org/ (yet to be released open-source spin-off of Doug Lenat's 10 year DARPA-funded AI research)

2) The Self-Replicating Omega Library

    Kevin Kelly
Editor, Wired Magazine
    San Francisco, CA

The immediate task at hand is digitizing and indexing all the worlds texts, records,
and broadcasts in all languages, for all people to have access anytime. But that
is only a first step. I present a number of different uses, arrangements, and phenomenon
which could emerge from this ultimate library as we proceed to the second and third
steps. These include self-replication, self-assembly, and structured meaning. Just
as our human memories are not static but actually part of how we think, so we can
now see that the library we are building is more than a global archive.
