Renewed Benchathlon site  Stéphane Marchand-Maillet
 May 16, 2002 06:44 PDT
Dear Benchathletes,
I am very happy to announce the release of our new site (still at
http://www.benchathlon.net). The design has been changed and the
information renewed. Clearly there is still some work to done and a lot
of data to update but it is mostly all there.
The aim of this new site is to take a novel approach for the
Benchathlon Network. We obviously still want to set up a benchmarking
framework and all the work done previously continues.
However, the first task is to step back a bit and make more robust the
foundation of the Network. What is needed is to have clear contacts with
CBIR reseachers. This can only be done if there is a clear point around
which people can gather. I propose that this point becomes the
Benchathlon site. The aim is to gather resources you all know and
advertise it via the site. This clearly includes the discussion of
recommendations for CBIR benchmarking.
I have started gathering such resources in the site and hope you will
help me completing it so that I can advertise it widely and attract
people...
I look very much forward to receiving the submission of your resources
and/or comments...
Meanwhile, I'll keep updating this first draft...
Best wishes,
Steph
