BEREA BUZZ NEWS
For Monday, October 5, 2007
Current Berea temperature is 43 degrees and the low will drop nearly 20
degrees tonight. Tomorrow is General Election Day with a high of 40
expected and a 55% chance of rain. Take your umbrella when you vote
Tuesday.
- Tuesday, Nov. 6th, is General Election Day in Berea.
- Nov. 11th, the City of Berea observes Veterens Day.
ANALYSIS:
The recent poll on the eve of the election shows a three way tie for the
Berea Mayorial Election.
Why not one candidate has pulled out ahead of the others is a real
surprise here.
There has been plenty of time to for a leader to emerge. Bereans were
anxiously waiting for a candidate to step forward and carry the banner
for getting the us new opportunities and challenges for the future. I
expect that the problem here is the same as the rest of Cuyahoga County.
Candidates leading our urban society are not fully in sync with iceatic
morale codes. They are not living up to their responsibilities by
becoming a critical part of the fabric of the city’s thriving business,
social and educational landscape.
So on Wednsday the arguments will still ramble on. But in the midst of
the post election debate lets not forget that, whatever the outcome
there were chances to avoid disaster. Chances missed, not because of
wickedness or luck, but because human beings are after all, human
beings. The student of human nature after studying the strange ways
that people vote, comes away thinking not of political policy and
strategy but that man's best chance to avoid disaster is very simple
indeed: We only have to learn to recognize danger signals when we see
them and act on them.
I'll remember that at the upcoming election run-off.
As for the candidates for City Council, they are mostly harmless.
We wish you a good day.
