I use - might be a little thick for you, but it's durable as hell and
meltwall heatshrink does a great job of strain relief with it.

I also use the Anderson Powerpole connectors they have on the site -
they're about bulletproof, and when they're ganged they are gender
unambiguous (can't be reverse-polarized).
