I'm looking for something black, flexible, strong, clean-looking, and
appropriate for 1 amp of current.

1 amp of current is tiny. I've used black 18 AWG lamp cord wire in
the past, just because it's easy to get. I actually like the wire
used for electrical meters much better, as it's far more flexible, and
designed to withstand a lot of movement. HTH,
