Having purchased from Cutter and been supplied with faulty product I
would agree with and endorse the warning to do no business with them,
whether in Australia, as I am, or elsewhere.
They are a disreputable company who do not stand behind the products
they sell. I was supplied faulty equipment and despite multiple emails
requesting a resolution to this supply of faulty equipment I did not
receive a single response or communications of any form from them.
The only good thing about this list receiving their promotional material
is that every time it comes up they receive a flood of bad publicity -
pure marketing genius.
My previous email stream, direct to Cutter at the time and later copied
to Bikecurrent, all unanswered by Cutter or Mark Riley, is included
below for any one interested.

Bikecurrent members,
On a small number of occasions I have purchased from Cutter. Due to poor
customer service and an inability to even respond - let alone
satisfactorily resolve legitimate customer concerns - I no longer do and
would recommend others do not purchase from them.
The last time was to buy three buckpucks, one of which I believe was
faulty.
In trying to follow up the matter with Cutter I received absolutely no
response to multiple emails and requests to sort the matter out. Every
communication was totally ignored by Cutter and Mark Riley.
These requests were sent to the same address that Mark Riley is still
using today and that was used to communicate details of placing the
order.
I have copied the first parts of the correspondence below (with my
address details removed). I recall there were more unanswered emails
from a work email address that I now do not have backups off.
This email is cc'd to Mark and I will happily share any follow ups or
outcome with the bikecurrent group so that in Mark's words readers can
get the complete story.

Last week I purchased three 700mA DC Buckpucks form you. Invoice
number 3313 dated 24/9/07, they were delivered to <address deleted>.
It seems one of the pucks is faulty. All three are being used in a
simple circuit straight from the Luxeon datasheet.
A 7.4 V lithium polymer battery feeds the puck via a 2.1 mm dc jack. A

| | 220 uF electro cap is across the input as the lead length to the
battery will sometimes be greater than 18 inches. The output of the
puck is connected to two Cree XRE 3W Leds connected in series. The
Leds are heatsinked - the construction is very similar to this earlier

| | tried different leds on the suspect puck with the same result. I have
also tried one of the other pucks on the leds in question and that
works fine.
Can I return the suspect puck for your examination and replacement if
you agree with me that it is faulty. What is the best address to send
it to?
