Cats and kittens badly need your help

Due to the deluge of cats and kittens since kitten season started,
PCBR finances are strained and we need your help desperately to
continue to help save the purebreds in need. There has been a
significant increase this summer in the number and frequency of large
scale situations as well as large numbers of shelters pleading that
we pull cats since the shelters are being overwhelmed by kittens PLUS
a large increase in owner relinquishments due to the economy.
As noted above, there have been many recent large scale
situations....including 5 situations we've been asked to help in the
last month alone - in PA, CA, OR, UT, and MS. In addition,. we have
just been informed of two looming major situations that may require
our help imminently.
Since May of 2008, we have arranged rescue for more than 200 cats per
month. The breeds we have arranged rescue for since May
include Abyssinian, Siamese, Snowshoe, Tonkinese, Burmese,
Norwegian Forest Cat, Japanese Bobtail, American Shorthair, Ragdoll,
Ragamuffin, Maine Coon, Pixiebob. Bengal, Devon Rex, Cornish Rex,
Sphynx, Scottish Fold, LaPerm, Persian and Exotic Shorthair.
As you know, we had been making due with far less funding than in
previous years, but many people were very generous the last time we
asked for help and that allowed us to proceed this far despite the
increased number of cats and costs. While some shelters are waiving
pull fees, others are not and since space is so tight in rescue and
gasoline costs are so high, we're facing extensive vetting and
boarding costs as well as paying some expenses for our fosters and
gas costs for transport. Please do help as best you can! ALL
