My Bit one keyboard sounded great until the oscillator section went out
of tune. It also never retained its memory, so I had to load my patches
every time. And there are 2 dead CEMs in it. Apart from the poor
reliability, it's actually a very cool sounding synth! There's nothing
else quite like it. Read this:

Anyway - I have a Unique DBM I picked up several years ago on eBay
and I haven't had a chance to turn it on. I got the User's Manual
with it, too. It was supposed to be in fully working order when I
bought it.

Is there anybody out there that has hands-on experience with these?
How do they sound. They're supposed to be a bitch to program and they
don't seem to get much respect (i.e. mention) on any of the mainstream
lists.

It would be fun having more active users start exchanging info about
these synths.

Wow, activity on the list! Anyone else want to ship me a non working
Bit? I'm about to get mine repaired, I've found a good tech and a few
CEM chips... serendipity!

Best wishes,
Tomás.
