Space Day May 5, 2005. 2005 Theme - Return to the Moon.
http://www.spaceday.org/index.html
Are your students looking for a project that’s exciting, lets them work
with friends, let’s them use their creativity and imagination, and build
and design something really cool? Then you’ve found it. The Space Day
2005 Design Challenges let your students become scientists, engineers,
and explorers working on the space frontier to design a totally unique
solution to some “out-of-this-world” challenges. Using the Moon or any
planet, moon, comet, or asteroid in our Solar System as the launching
point for exploration, students can choose from among designing a unique
device to make living or working on the Moon easier; planning a space
mission and build a rover to successfully accomplish the mission; or
exploring the Moon and creating an electronic newspaper to tell everyone
back on Earth what it's like to live there.
The Space Day Design Challenges are open to students in grades 4-8.
Space Day Star and Mission: Explore will be evaluated in two categories:
grades 4-5 and grades 6-8. Inventors Wanted will be evaluated in three
categories: grades 4-5, grades 6-8, and youth organization/clubs (grades
4-8). Teams that submit solutions by February 15, 2005, will be
considered for national recognition and receive a certificate of
appreciation. Stellar Design Challenge teams will be selected by the
Space Day Educational Advisory Committee and recognized at the Space Day
Opening Ceremony on May 5, 2005, in Washington, D.C.

Drink it Up??
http://www.millennium.scps.k12.fl.us/staffpages/ShawR/drinkitup/index.html
What's in your water? Do you really know? Do you want to know? You
should know, because without water, life as we know it could not exist
on earth. This educational project encourages global school
participation to learn about local drinking water. Classes are
encouraged to test their drinking water and to post their results to the
database for others to use as real data. At the end of the project,
classes are also encouraged to post web pages detailing what they have
done to research their drinking water, and talk about what their plans
are to protect this natural resource. This project was created by
Rosemary Shaw of Millennium Middle School in Sanford, FL, part of
Semionole County Public Schools.

Microsoft Office Clip Art and Media
http://office.microsoft.com/clipart/default.aspx?lc=en-us
This has been around for a long time and somehow escaped being added to
Blue Web'n. Well here it is...a huge assortment of clip art and media
(sounds, clip art, photos, and animation). Use the broad subject area or
search by key word. Once you find the media you want, simply copy and
paste the clip wherever you want it, or drag it into your Microsoft
document. Or, click the thumbnail of the clip and drag it to the place
in your document where you want it. If you think you may want to use the
clip again, you can download it and add it to Microsoft Clip Gallery or
Microsoft Clip Organizer. Tons and tons of clip art on a wide variety of
topics make this a winner.
