Dear friends of Bow Triplets,
It’s nice to write to you again. Hope you had a fabulous start in the
New year.
The special CD offer with “Irish Connection”, “Never Too Early” and
The special singles edition of “One Spot on Earth” has ended.
Thank you all who took advantage of it and thus helping us funding
the further studio sessioons for the new album.
Thanks also to all who have pre ordered the hand signed edition of

1. NEW .. A folk club in a CHURCH near the German border!!
Friends, you are about to read something truly amazing.
Charles Smith, a Scottish friend who’s living in Neuhausen
Mailed us that Máire Ní Chathaseigh (harp) and Chris Newman
(guitar) were giving a concert in a church (!) in Lohn.
Lohn is a tiny village near the German border, unknown to
most people. We needed a map and some talent to find it even
though it’s only a half hour drive from where we live.
We have been fans of Máire and Chris for over a decade and
you might even say that they have in part influenced our music
(and not in a small way). Many of Stef’s “bleeding fingertip” practice
sessions were because he wanted to be able to play like Chris
Newman.
Well, to cut a long story short, of course we had to go.
Arriving only half an hour before the concert we had fears that
there would not be room for us in the church and were amazed
to find an empty church apart from Máire and Chris up front, tuning
their instruments.
A friendly vicar, Hans Duerr, greeted us with a broad smile.
He explained that he was a fan of folk music and that he had
started with organizing concerts for the people of his village and
for all others who wanted to come.
He had , via internet, found out that Máire and Chris were on tour
in southern Germany and had seen that there was a one day gap
between concerts. Bammmm, he contacted them and they came.
We grabbed the seats right up front of course and in the next
twenty minutes people came from everywhere, quickly filling
the church.
The concert was absolutely superb and the athmosphere in this
“folk” church was tops.
After the concert we went for a drink with the vicar, Charles, Máire
and Chris. What a night it was and all that on an ordinary Thursday.

Hans Duerr has some truly amazing artists playing in his church
and this is something we want to share with all our friends.
It is well worth keeping up with what goes on in Lohn for those
of you who don’t live too far away. You will hear people perform
there for who you’d have to go to the big centers to enjoy otherwise.
Two further concerts already booked are:
Ziroli Wintenstein Ensemble. Friday 10th May 2002 at 20.00.
Sinti-Swing with the three virtuous gypsy guitarists Ziroli, Wano
and Terrangi. Fascinating music of the Sinti gypsies.
Tommy Sands from northern Ireland. Wednesday
13th November 2002. 20.00.
Singer/songwriter Tommy from county Down is one of the foremost
songwriters living in Ireland. Apart from in folkclubs he has performed
in places like the Olympic Stadium in Moscow and Carnegie Hall in
New York.

2. Bow Triplets’ next public concert. Don’t miss it.
It’s time for Schaffhausen again!
Saturday 09th March 2002. Food and snacks from 7 pm,

This is in the centre of Schaffhausen folks and for those who weren’t
there last year, the food is really excellent and the atmosphere very
friendly. We’re playing three sets here so it’s a “full” night.
It pays to ask for the “front room” when you make your reservations
as the “back room” is slightly around the corner and the people who
sit there will only get to see the “rears” of the musicians.
The official publicity for this concert will start in ten days from now
so this is your chance to be in early and get a nice seat in the
“front”.
Last year the place was sold out one week ahead of concert so
make sure you phone in for the tickets before the end of February.

3. Heidi and Stef playing Swedish.
There is a Swiss/Scandinavian festival in the town hall of Stetten
on Friday the 15th March at 8 pm.
People from Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland are introducing
the jovial festival traditions of Scandinavia to guests from all
countries.
Culture-Music-Food-Drinks.
Heidi and Stef are adding the northern musical touch with live acoustic
traditional Swedish folk music, played on fiddles, viola, concertina
and guitars. (You read right, don’t forget that Stef is originally from
Sweden and Heidi and Stef have been playing Swedish music ever
since they first met).

4. Bow Triplets are playing at Burntwood, Staffordshire, UK.
Here’s something for our friends in the UK. Bow Triplets have been
booked for the Burntwood folk music festival, August 2002.
The festival is 20 miles north of Birmingham and we are playing three
concerts and really looking forward to it.
Friday the 16th in the evening, Saturday the 17th in the evening
and Sunday the 18th (last day) in the afternoon.
The festival’s homepage still lingers with last years festival but
it should soon be updated as all acts will have been booked by now.

5. The flying horse “Miramis” really took off for a while.
Our new track “Miramis”, a composition by Stef was released a short
time before Christmas.
It’s name was taken from a children’s book by Astrid Lindgren (who just
recently passed away) with the name “Mio My Mio”
Miramis is a white horse that can fly in critical situations.
Well, in January the track really got “wings” for a short while and made
place 7 on Uksounds.com and place 2 in the MP3.com’s Mood Music
charts (ther same week!)
The best day at mp3.com it had nearly 1100 listens and downloads.

6. Fanmail from children and it’s back to school next season.
This seasons school concerts are over. It’s been a lot of work but fun
work with many fond memories of wonderful children.
Wow, we have started to receive many letters from children who
enjoyed our music (and some who have talked their parents into
buying our cds:-). Some play either the fiddle or the guitar and ask
us to send them some sheet music and lyrics. Of course we do this
and we love reading and replying to their letters.
The city of Zuerich have asked us to continue with the concerts
next season so in November it’s back to school again for us.

7. Bow Triplets are setting up for hard disc recording.
We are getting geared up in our own studio. Two separate rooms
connected by a window are being equipped with what it takes to
make decent recordings. In the one room the computers with
mixing panel and screen and pre amps are installed and in the other
there will be studio microphones for whoever is performing.
There is even a piano and a keyboard in there.
While completing the studio we are naturally playing around with
the equipment, trying to learn all there is to know about hard disc
recording (whatch out Moritz of Hardstudios, next time we come to
you we will know every step you take:-)
Our home studio will of course not replace the pro studio for our cds
but we can prepare ourselves even better for the studio work by
making pre-productions. Some of those pre productions may even
be possible to use for mp3 given the time.

8. Sousonne and the Forest of Light. Fairies and such.
We have a dear friend in the north of the US who has a wonderful
internet retreat with all sorts of wonderful gems, amulets, wishstones,
crafts that make superb gifts and not to mention the great cavern
library.
There are numerous amazing photos, graphics and stories, some tied
with Celtic heritage. A shoppe is about to be opened.
"The Forest of Light" is well worth a visit to anyone looking for a
special
experience. We’ll say no more, go and visit Sousonne – you won’t
regret it.

Es ist schoen, euch wieder zu schreiben. Wir hoffen, dass ihr alle
einen guten Start ins neue Jahr hatten.

Hier ist unser erster Rundbrief im 2002, wir wuenschen viel Spass
beim lesen.

1. NEU.. Ein folk club in einer KIRCHE nah an der deutschen
Grenze!!
Liebe Freunde, Ihr seid dabei, etwas besondereszu erfahren.
Charles Smith, ein schottischer, in Neuhausen lebender Bekannter
von uns schickte ein email mit dem Hinweis, dass
Máire Ní Chathaseigh (Harfe) and Chris Newman (Gitarre) in einer
Kirche im Lohn spielen wuerden!
Lohn ist ein sehr kleines Dorf unweit von Schaffhausen und wir mussten
eine Karte zur Hilfe nehmen, um es zu finden, obwohl es nur eine knappe
halbe Stunde von unserem Dorf entfern liegt.
Wir sind seit ueber zehn Jahren Liebhaber von Maíre und Chris Musik
und die beiden haben sicher auch unsere Musik gewissermassen
beeinfluesst. Viele von Stef's "wunde Finger Uebesessions" stammen
von dem Wunsch, wie Chris Newman spielen zu koennen.
Um es kurz zu machen, natuerlich mussten wir zum Konzert.
Als wir erst eine halbe Stunde vor dem Konzertanfang ankamen,
fuerchteten wir schon, kein Platz mehr zu bekommen und wir staunten
nicht wenig, als wir eine fast leere Kirche vorfanden.
Nur Maíre und Chris waren ganz vorne am Instrumente stimmen.
Jetzt begegnete uns der freundliche Pfarrer Hans Duerr mit einem
breiten Laecheln. Er erklaerte, ein grosser Liebhaber von Volkmusik
zu sein und dass er angefangen haette, Konzerte fuer die
Dorfbewohner und fuer alle, die nach Lohn finden, zu organisieren.
Er hatte via Internet herausgefunden, dass Maíre und Chris auf
Tourne in Sueddeutschen Raum waren und auch gesehen, dass
an einem Tag keine Konzerte eingetragen waren.
Panggg...ohne langes Ueberlegen rief er an und sie kamen.
Wir packten natuerlich die Plaetze ganz vorne und in den naechsten
zwanzig Minuten kamen die Leute von ueberall her und die gemuetliche
Kirche wurde rasch gefuellt.
Das Konzert war absolut hinreissend und die Atmosphaere war
grosse Klasse.
Nach dem Konzert gingen wir etwas trinken mit dem Pfarrer, Charles,
Maíre und Chris. Was fuer einen Abend und all das an einem
gewoehnlichen Donnerstag.

Hans Duerr hat einige sehr bekannte und gute Kuenstler, die in seiner
Kirche spielen und dies moechten wir mit all unseren Freunden teilen.
Es "LOHNt" sich, ueber die Geschehnisse in Lohn informiert zu sein.
Dort hoert Ihr Musiker, fuer die Ihr sonst meistens sehr weit
in die grossen Konzertzentren reisen muesstet.

Mehrzweckhalle Stetten.
Bilder, Musik, Kulinarisches und Informationen über Feste und Bräuche
in den skandinavischen Ländern, präsentiert von Menschen aus Dänemark,
Finnland, Norwegen und Schweden, die im Kanton Schaffhausen leben.
Dieser Abend wird anregende Informationen bieten, Festfreude verbreiten
und die Besucher mit allen Sinnen auf Skandinavien einstimmen.
Heidi und Stef Sigfalk werden dem Abend mit schwedischer Live-Musik
einen besonderen Farbtupfer verleihen.

4. Bow Triplets spielen in Burntwood, Staffordshire, England.
Hier ist etwas fuer unsere Freunde in England.
Wir sind eingeladen worden, am Burntwood folk music festival
August 2002 teilzunehmen.
Das Festival ist 30 km noerdlich von Birmingham. Wir spielen drei
Konzerte und freuen uns darauf.
Freitag 16. abends, Samstag 17. abends und Sonntag 17.
(letzter Tag) am Nachmittag.

aber die neue Informationen sollten bald erscheinen.

5. Das fliegende Pferd „Miramis“ flog hoch fuer eine Weile.
Das neue Stueck "Miramis", eine Komposition von Stef, wurde kurz
vor Weihnachten publiziert.
Sein Name stammt aus einer Kindergeschichte von Astrid Lindgren
(die kuerzlich verschied) mit dem Namen "Mio Mein Mio".
Miramis ist ein weisses Pferd, das fliegen kann wenn es brenzelig wird.
Nun, im Januar bekam das Stueck wirklich "Fluegel" und schaffte
Platz 7 im Top 10 bei Uksounds.com in England und Platz 2 in der
"Mood Music" Hitliste bei mp3.com in USA (dieselbe Woche!)
Der beste Tag auf mp3.com brachte fast 1100 ZuhoererInnen.

6. Fanpost von Kindern und im Herbst gehen wir wieder zur Schule.
Die Schulhauskonzerte in Zuerich sind fuer dieses Schuljahr zu Ende.
Es war viel aber schoene Arbeit mit viele schoene Erinnerungen
an tolle Kinder.
Und.......wir haben Briefe erhalten von Kindern, die unsere Auftritte
"laessig" fanden (und von einigen, die ihre Eltern ueberredet haben,
unsere CDs zu kaufen:-). Einige spielen Geige oder Gitarre und fragen
ob wir Noten von unserer Musik und Texte unserer Lieder schicken
koennen. Selbstverstaendlich tun wir dies und wir lesen und beantworten
mit Freude ihre Briefe.
Das Schuldepartement Zuerich hat uns gefragt ob wir mit unserem
Programm weitermachen wuerden im naechsten Schuljahr.
So heisst es fuer uns zurueck zur Schule im November.

7. Bow Triplets richtet sich im eigenen Studio ein.
Wir sind dabei eine Aufnahmestudio bei uns einzurichten.
Zwei Kellerzimmer sind durch eine Fensterscheibe verbunden und
sie werden jetzt mit der notwendigen Ausruestung ausgestattet,
um gute Aufnahmen zu machen.
In dem einen Raum sind Computer, Bildschirm, Vorverstaerker
und Mischpult installiert und in dem anderen gibt es Studio-
mikrofone. Es steht sogar ein Klavier und ein Keyboard dort.
Waehrend wir das Studio einrichten spielen wir natuerlich ein
wenig herum mit der Ausruestung, um zu lernen wie es geht
(aufgepasst Moritz von Hardstudios, wenn wir das naechste Mal
zu dir kommen, koennen wir dir auf die Fingern schauen :-).
Unser Heimstudio wird natuerlich niemals das Profistudio fuer unsere
CDs ersetzen, aber wir koennen uns natuerlich durch Vorproduktionen
optimaler fuer die Arbeit im Tonstudio vorbereiten.
Vielleicht koennen mit der Zeit sogar diese Vorproduktionen fuer mp3
verwendet werden.

8. Sousonne und der Wald des Lichts. Feen und Aehnliches.
Wir haben eine liebe Bekannte im Norden der USA, die eine
wundervolle, mythische "Forest of Light" im Internet hat mit allen
moeglichen Steinen, Amuletten, und Handarbeiten, die sich sehr gut als
Geschenke eignen. Dort ist auch eine grosse Bibliothek mit Hinweise
fuer keltische Literatur anzutreffen. Es gibt erstaunliche Geschichten
mit
wunderschoenen Bildern und Grafiken. Bald wird ein "shoppe" eroeffnet.
Sousonnes Seiten muss jeder, der etwas besonderes mag, besuchen.
