A Chairde
Dear friends of Bow Triplets,
Summer is finally over and what a glorious summer it was.There were very
enjoyable folk festivals in Sweden with some really brilliant musicians
to say the least, i.e. Ale Möller, a well known musician for many years
and the group "Ranarin" with some of the most exciting Swedish folk
arrangements we have ever heard. Then ofcourse, there were many days
of nothing but sweet leisure, swimming, fishing and boating.
Stef had a hand for Swedish poetry this year, he wrote something like
15 poems in the Swedish language during countless warm summer
nights.
However, time goes on..we've been back in Switzerland for over a month
and you are about to read our newsletter No 18 of September 2003.

1. Heidi and Stef are going to Ireland.
We are looking forward to our next Ireland trip.
Very soon now we'll pack our instruments and tooth brushes and leave
for Dublin. We'll be away from Oct. 4 th to Oct 14 th and there will be
time for relaxing as well as for playing. Our trip will take us to
Sixmilebridge and Feakle, Co. Clare, Clonmoylan, Galway and Cliften,
Co. Galway as well as Glendalough, Co. Wicklow. It'll be great to play
together with old and new friends in Ireland and in doing so fill our
hearts
with new energy, ideas and music.

2. Next Swiss public concert in Dolder 2, near Schaffhausen (Oct).
Bow Triplets have been playing regular private events since the public
Gerlafingen concert late August. The next Swiss public concert after
Ireland is:
Saturday October 25th
in Dolder2 music bar in Feuerthalen at 9.30 pm

All tickets will be sold at the door. Pre bookings are not possible so
if you
want to come, make sure you are there at least one hour before we start
to avoid disappointments. You can order a couple of drinks at the bar
while
you're waiting, Dolder2 is a very special place.

Public concerts in November and December will be announced in the
next newsletter
By the way….. in a few days Bow Triplets are playing at an Irish-Swedish
wedding in a castle near Murten, Switzerland. There will be equal parts
Irish-Swedish in the audience and we have been asked to mix the
programme accordingly. Finally we can play Swedish and Irish traditional
music at the same concert. We always felt the two styles go beautifully
hand in hand so this will be a great night for us!

3. Free music streaming directly from our homepage.
As mentioned in the last newsletter, we have subscribed to the external
streaming programme of mp3.com which means free hi and lo fi streaming
of our music without entering any email addresses or such, directly from
our homepage. This service costs money but we have had great response
already from people who have just discovered our music in this way.
The more friends we make, the more CDs we are likely to sell and as a
result of this we can continue producing more music.

A Chairde
Liebe Bow Triplets Freunde
Ein wunderschöner Sommer ist vorbei. Unsere Zeit in Schweden war
wie immer sehr erholsam und erlebnisreich. Schöne Folkfestivale und
Musikantentreffs mit z.T sehr gute Musiker und Musikerinnen, um es
milde auszudrücken.Z.B Ale Möller, einer der bekanntesten in der
schwedischen Folkmusikszene und die Gruppe "Ranarin", die uns mit
unwahrscheinlich schönen Musikarrangements überraschte. Natürlich war
da auch genügend Zeit für Baden, Herumhängen, Fischen und Bootsfahrten.
Stef hatte dieses Jahr seine poetische Ader draussen und schrieb einige
schwedische Gedichte während vielen lauen Sommerabenden.
Aber die Zeit vergeht…wir sind schon seid über einen Monat wieder in
der Schweiz und haben schon einige Konzerte gespielt.
Ihr seit gerade dabei, unseren Rundbrief Nr. 18, September 2003 zu
lesen.

1. . Heidi und Stef fahren nach Irland
Wir freuen uns schon auf unsere nächste Irlandreise.
Sehr bald werden wir unsere Instrumente und Zahnbürsten packen
und nach Dublin reisen. Wir werden vom 4. bis 14. Oktober in Irland sein
und werden sowohl für Entspannung wie fürs Spielen Zeit haben.
Unsere Reise wird uns nach Sixmilebridge und Feakle, Co. Clare,
Clonmoylan, Galway und Clifden, Co. Galway und Glendalough,
Co. Wicklow führen.
Es wird toll mit alten und neuen Freunden in Irland zu spielen, denn das
wird uns mit neuen Energien, Ideen und Musik füllen.

2. Nächstes Bow Triplets Konzert in Feuerthalen / SH
Bow Triplets spielte seit dem letzten öffentlichen Konzert in
Gerlafingen
Ende August an einigen privaten Anlässen.
Das erste öffentliche Konzert nach Irland ist:
Samstag 25.Oktober
in Dolder2 Musik Bar in Feuerthalen bei Schaffhausen.
Anfang: 21.30 Uhr

Oeffentliche Konzerte in November und Dezember werden im nächsten
Rundbrief publik gemacht.
Übrigens, am Samstag (morgen) spielt Bow Triplets an einer schwedisch –
irischen Hochzeit in einem Schloss bei Murten. Es sind ungefähr gleich
viel
Iren wie Schweden im Publikum und wir wurden gebeten, das Konzert
entsprechend zu gestalten. Endlich können wir irische und schwedische
Musik im gleichen Konzert spielen. Wir fanden schon immer, dass die
beiden Musikstilen gut zusammen passen und darum freuen wir uns fest
auf den Abend.
