Dear friends of Bow Triplets,
Looking out the window this morning we saw heavy snowfall for the
first time this winter. It s a good thing that Stef finally got that new
battery for the car after having intended to do so since last summer!
Our recent visit to Clonmoylan and West Ireland was great as every
year, and we had some faboulous music sessions with
Ronnie Carthy and family. Stef wrote a new song there with the
Title: "The Last Shirt". We made a rough pre recording of it which

The Irish Nights in Kammgarn in Schaffhausen, produced a varied
programme as usual and our favourites were Karan Casey,
Alan Bourke and Solas who performed a high energy concert
to the very last note.

1. Next Bow Triplets' Concert is in Frauenfeld
Heidi, Stef, Andreas and Brendan are playing the next public concert
on Saturday the fourth of December, at Brauhaus Sternen in
Frauenfeld, Switzerland. Doors open at 7 pm and the concert starts
at 8.30 pm.

Fine foods and drinks are available at very reasonable prices.
This is one of our favourite venues to play and it's the sixth year in a
row that we ve played there. Don't miss it, if possible, because the
atmosphere is always more that great and we have many new
songs to sing and play for you. Brendan Wade is playing this gig
with us for the very first time so please make him feel welcome.

2. Ronnie Carthy at Paddy O'Briens
Folksinger Ronnie Carthy is coming to
Switzerland at the end of November and he'll be performing at
Paddy O'Briens Irish pub in Winterthur, for their 10th birthday
on Dec. 2nd. http://www.paddyobriens.ch

3. Bow Triplets played at a Country Festival!
Our latest public concert at the annual country festival in Buelach
was very special as Bow Triplets was the only Irish – Celtic band
that had ever been asked to play there. The purpose was to show
how the music of the Irish immigrants had developed and changed
over the years.
The mix of traditional celtic, old time country music
and bluegrass was great to experience on one single night and the
big audience showed their appreciation by creating a great
atmosphere in the concert hall. We couldn t resist shouting the odd
YEE HAAW while playing our faster reels and people kept saying
HOWDY to us afterwards.

4. A plead to save TARA
The Irish pianist Fionnuala Devlin has started a petition and we are
Publishing her letter here. We recommend signing this petition:
I've started an International Campaign to protect the Hill of Tara.
The Irish Government are planning to build a 4 lane motorway
Through its ancient grounds. I've set up a website in English and
German www.protect-tara.org and also a petition
www.petitiononline.com/Temair/petition.html
I need to get people, if they want to, to sign the petition as soon as
possible.
The minister in Ireland is deciding now about maybe changing the
plans for the motorway, and I would like to go to the Irish newspapers
with the information about my campaign, it would increase the public
pressure on the minister.
My question to you then is, you've guessed it, can you look at the
website, and if it's ok for you, to sign the petition, and then also to
pass the website information on to as many people as you can.
I believe if we can act now we have a real chance of getting the
motorway completely stopped.
There's already a lot of opposition to it in Ireland, and the campaign
here will just add to the pressure.
I know you are really a lover of Irish culture, and without exaggeration
Tara has always been at the centre of it.

Eileen Ivers is coming to Bern for one only concert in Switzerland on
Friday the 3rd of december. It will be in the Konzertsaal Jardin
and the concert starts at 8.15 pm with Elandir.

Heute schneit es zum ersten mal so richtig in diesem Winter.
Zum Glueck hatte Stef neulich die Autobatterie ersetzt nach dem

Konzert am Samstag 4. Dezember im Brauhaus Sternen in Frauenfeld.

Der Gitarrist und Saenger Ronnie Carthy kommt Ende November
In die Schweiz und er tritt in Paddy O Briens Pub in Winterthur auf,
zu dem 10 Jaehrigen Jubilaeum am 2. Dezember.

3. Bow Triplets spielten an einem Country Festival!
Unser letztes oeffentliches Konzert am Country Festival im Buelach
war sehr speziell, da Bow Triplets die einzige Irische Band war,
die dort je aufgetreten ist.
Der Gedanke dahinter war, aufzuzeigen wie die Musik der irischen
Einwanderer sich ueber die Jahre veraenderte.
Die Mischung von Traditionell Irisch, Old Time Coundtry und Bluegrass
an einem Abend war spannend und das Publikum zeigte ihre
Wertschaetzung mit guter Stimmung im Konzertsaal. Wir konnten
nicht wiederstehen, YEE HAAW waehrend unserer schnelleren reels
zu rufen und nachher wurden wir dauernd mit HOWDY begruesst.

4. Helft mit die TARA zu retten
Die irische Pianistin Fionnuala Devlin hat eine Petition angefangen und
wir publizierun hier ihren Brief. Wir empfehlen all unseren Freunden,
die Petition zu unterzeichnen:
Wie Sie vielleicht schon wissen: die uralte, heilige und königliche
Stätte Tara in Co. Meath droht durch den Plan, eine vierspurige
Autobahn durch ihr Herz zu bauen, für immer zerstört zu werden.
Tara war der Sitz der Keltischen Hochkönige und der Druiden.
Auf Tara verwendete St. Patrick zum ersten mal das Symbol des
Kleeblatts, das heute als Symbol für ganz Irland gilt. Tara ist älter
als die Pyramiden, älter als Stonehenge, älter als die Chinesische
Mauer. Siehe www.protect-tara.org Zu der nationalen Kampagne in
Irland wollen wir nun Sie darum bitten, ihre demokratische Stimme
der Kampagne zur Rettung Taras hinzuzufügen.
Fordern Sie die irische Regierung dazu auf, Tara in seiner Ganzheit
zu erhalten und die geplante Autobahn auf einer der Alternativrouten
