A Chairde
Dear friends of Bow Triplets,
We hope you are all well and look forward to seing many of you
in 2005 during one of our own concerts or any other Celtic event we
might meet you in. We have a lot of interesting work ahead of us,
playing ofcourse but also in various other matters.
The music school which Stef is managing has its 30 th
anniversary this year and around 20 different events are
currently being planned for the celebrations throughout the year.
Stef is also going to Ireland end of April with eleven students that
have signed up for a trip full of Irish music and Irish history. He
calls
this one week trip WEST IRELAND TOTAL IMMERSION and the group
will be stationed in our favourite spot Clonmoylan, County Galway.
It will be interesting to find out if Stef is any good as a travel
guide.

It is the 5 th annual concert in Thiergarten so book early,
every year this traditional event has been booked out one week
in advance.

2. Ronnie Carthy Paddy tour in Switzerland
Our friend, the folksinger Ronnie Carthy from Baltimore, West Cork,
is coming to Switzerland again in March and he will be performing as
follows:
Friday 11. March 20.00. Opening of Irish weeks in restaurant

Sunday 13. March, 12 am and again 8 pm

3. Irish Music for Flood Victims a grand success
The event of January 7. organized by Bow Triplets went under
the name IRISH MUSIC FOR FLOOD VICTIMS.
We performed together with The Pint and Joe McHugh and friends,
with known names like Cathrin Rattigan and Brendan Wade.
The concert hall was given to us free of charge and people from
the church of Winterthur sold food and drinks.
All media, like newspapers, radio and television participated for
the advertising at no cost.
Every penny of the proceeds went to the flood victims.
We are happy to say that we had 650 people in the audience and
collected Swiss Francs 21500 (equals over US$ 18000).
Not bad for one night. Big thanks to all involved.
(hmmm, wonder if this should be done annually, there will always
be people in need in the world)

4. Visit from Marc Gunn of the Brobdingnagian Bards in Texas
Marc Gunn of the very successful Brobdingnagian Bards in Austin
paid us a visit for a couple of days before Christmas. It was a great
pleasure to meet Marc after having known him via emails etc.
for a number of years. He is a great person and musician to be with
and on the night of his arrival, Heidi and Stef had the joy of playing
and singing on an informal session with him in Brennans Irish pub
in Neuhausen.
He left a very good impression with the people that were there
waiting to hear him sing and play and we all hope he will be back
to give us some more songs and tunes soon.

Liebe Bow Triplets Freunde
Wir hoffen, dass ihr alle wohlauf seid und freuen uns, viele von euch
in 2005 zu sehen, sei es in einem Bow Triplets Konzert oder sonst
an einem keltischen Anlass. Wir haben eine Menge spannende
Arbeit vor uns in diesem Jahr, spielen natuerlich aber auch diverse
andere Sachen.
Die Musikschule die Stef leitet feiert in diesem Jahr ihr 30 jaehriges
Bestehen und rund 20 Anlaesse sind schon in Planung um das
Jubilaeumsjahr gebuehrend zu feiern.
Stef geht auch nach Irland Ende April, mit 11 Schuelerinnen und
Schuelern, die Irische Musik und Geschichte naeher kennenlernen
wollen. Diese Reisewoch geht under dem Namen WEST IRLAND
TOTALES EINTAUCHEN und die Reisegruppe wird an unserem
Lieblingsort Clonmoylan, County Galway stationiert sein.
Wir sind gespannt, ob sich Stef als guter Reisefuehrer entpuppt.

2. Ronnie Carthy Paddy Tournee in der Schweiz
Der Gitarrist und Saenger Ronnie Carthy aus Baltimore, West Cork,
kommt in Maerz wieder in die Schweiz.
Die Konzerte:
Freitag 11. Maerz 20.00 Uhr. Eroeffnung der Irischen Wochen

3. Irische Musik fuer Seebebenopfer ein grosser Erfolg
Das Konzert fuer die Seebebenopfer wurde von Bow Triplets
organisiert und am 7.Januar durchgefuehrt.
Wir spielten zusammen mit The Pint und Joe McHugh und Freunde.
Das Kirchgemeindehaus wurde kostenlos zur Verfuegung gestellt,
die Kirchgemeinde verkaufte Essen und Getraenke und die Bands
spielten kostenlos. Die Medien wir Radio, Fernsehen und Zeitungen
machten gratis Werbung fuer den Anlass und so konnten wir rund 650
Leute fuer den Abend gewinnen.
Alles zusammen konnten wir CHF 21500 an die Hilfswerke
ueberweisen. Ein grosses Dankeschoen an alle Beteiligte.
(hmmm, sowas sollte man vielleicht jaehrlich machen, es wird immer
Menschen in Not geben)

4. Besuch von Marc Gunn von Brobdingnagian Bards in Texas
Marc Gunn von den erfolgreichen Brobdingnagian Bards in Austin
besuchte uns kurz vor Weihnachten. Es war toll, ihn nach einigen
Jahren Briefkontakt zu treffen. Er ist ein sehr netter Mensch und
Musiker und Heidi und Stef hatten im Brennans Pub in Neuhausen,
das Vergnuegen, mit ihm eine Session zu spielen.
Er hinterliess einen sehr guten Eindruck bei allen, die dort gewartet
hatten, um ihn zu hoeren und wir freuen uns schon auf ein weiteres
Mal.
