The United Poultry Concerns website offers a wealth of ideas and
information about chickens in particular and animal liberation in
general. Check out the upcoming UPC forum at which the pros and cons of
animal welfare intitiatives will be debated and plan to attend if you
can.
**Eastern Shore Chicken Sanctuary News**
Cooler afternoons mean happier days for the chickens here at the
sanctuary. Our newest resident, Sprout, escaped from a hatchery truck
(rather than a truck headed for the slaughter plant) and is therefore
very much younger than the other residents. She's assertive,
independent, and *never* seems to stop moving. Her antics provide a
welcome respite for the ESCS coordinator, who often needs a break from
the stresses of coordinating the activities of the Global Hunger
Alliance.
