Hello everyone,

I have, since announcing the pre-released motion, become of aware of
information that has made me feel it would be wise to reword it slightly,
especially given the nature of the President's Cup as a novice competition.
This should not change most people's perception of the motion too much, and
hopefully will clarify the intended debate in most people's minds. The
motion as it will be announced on Saturday will now read:

This House would give the United Nations Secretary-General the power to
autonomously recognise the occurence of genocide, obligating Security
Council intervention to halt it.

My sincere apologies to any inconvenience caused to competitors, the error
in judgement is mine alone; in no way are either Bryn Gough, my DCA, or any
of the UCL team responsible.

All the best,

Jonathan Leader Maynard
Chief Adjudicator, UCL President's Cup 2009
