Following the hugely popular China debate the ESU will be holding
another public debate, this one featuring the Tax Payers Alliance (TPA)
and the Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA).
Following the publication of this report by the TAP
http://www.taxpayersalliance.com/tflpc.pdf both sides have agreed to
meet at a public debate with the motion;
"This House believes it can be legitimate for public sector bodies to
use taxpayers' money to hire public affairs and public relations
agencies."
We are already having considerable interest from press, government
agencies and NGOs.
Speaking for the Proposition:
•Francis Ingham - PRCA director-general
•TBC
Speaking for the Opposition
•Matthew Sinclair - TPA Research Director (former university debater for
the LSE)
•Alex Deane - Director of Big Brother Watch (World Universities debating
champion for Middle Temple)
The ESU will be hosting the debate between the Tax Payers Alliance and
the Public Relations Consultants Association exploring the use of public
relations consultants by the government. The event will start at 6pm
with the debate itself beginning at 6:30.
The event is free to attend and if you would like to do so please e-mail
Jason-@esu.org to request a free place.
