Dear all,
The ESU are looking for university students who are interested in
teaching debating to schools around the country. As an ESU Mentor you
would assist us in the running of debating workshops in Primary and
Secondary schools. You do not need to have previous experience with
debating or teaching, nor does this programme require a long-term
commitment on your part. In fact it's up to you to choose which teaching
opportunities you are interested in and available for. To receive
updates on upcoming teaching opportunities please email us at
kallina-@esu.org or join the ESU Mentors facebook page.
As an ESU Mentor you will receive a payment of £50.00 for every session
you take part in, and we'll cover all travel expenses.
The ESU also offers opportunities to travel abroad (with all travel and
accommodation expenses covered by the ESU) to teach debating, as part of
our ESU debating squad, and participation for this programme will be
taken into account when considering the applications for the tours
abroad. Over the past year we have sent university students to teach in
several countries, including Japan, Mexico, Hong Kong, India, Bermuda,
and the US.
For any of you that might be interested in becoming ESU Mentors, we're
running a training session tomorrow (Thursday 29 October), 6-8pm, in
Dartmouth House (37 Charles Street, W1J 5ED) - nearest tube station:
Green Park. All welcome to attend.
If you wish to join our mailing list, or to attend the training session
tomorrow, please email kallina-@esu.org.
Hope to hear from some of you soon!
