Good advice? Words of wisdom? All of the above? See you Saturday!

| | When I first became a ham in 1973, I wasn't all that successful. I never
had a lot of contacts, and the ones I had were defintely not very DX! And
I didn't have a clue about cool QRP! So after a couple of years, I kinda
lost interest. Fortunately, I kept all of my gear, and when I got back
into it in '98, I did a few things differently. First off, I developed a
whole bunch of local friends that were hams, in most cases they were
mentors and Elmers. That group grew larger when I finally started
attending the Cascade QRP Club breakfasts. There were a lot of other
things that I had done different than I did in '73, but having all of you
as contacts, mentors, info sources, opinion providers, Elmers, whatever
you want to call yourselves -- that was the best thing I ever did. If I
had done it in '73, I think I would have been MUCH more successful! (Of
course, learning a bit more about antennas and loading them properly sure
helped a bit, too!)
