A friend asked me, apropos of hiring somebody (anybody want to work in
Seattle? ;-):
One of the requirements is at least 2 years of PERL programming
experience. Do you have any suggestions as to a quick program it would be
appropriate to ask the candidate to write to verify their PERL knowledge?
I suggested:
A better (?) route might be to give them 2 or three short programs in perl
and have them explain what they do. Harder to snow you, if you already
know what they do, lets you have varying levels of difficulty (w/ and w/o
modules) and even leave in some errors and see if they catch the problems.
Any other ideas?
How was the meeting/burrito dinner last night?
