Hello T-10ers.
| |
I think it was brought up at your last meeting about helping out with an
Event for the City of Chicago, CPD, and the 2016 Olympic Bid comm. They
are
sponsoring the French Lycee games (info attached) in Chicago this June 2-4
and have contacted me to help organize a mini fun regatta. They have
close
to 180 kids that they want to bring out on the lake for a Chicago yachting
experience. What they are in need of is 10-15 T-10s with owner/skipper
and
crew if possible for the day of June 4th, we will provide 1
instructor/crew
for each boat and will do a class room session followed by a mini distance
race (jib & main), maybe 1 hour, and repeat this 2 or 3 times depending on
how many kids and how many boats.
As this is now just 1 month away we would need commitments ASAP. Below is
more info from the event organizer too.
thanks,

| | Scott,
We just spoke on the phone about Sport Games our school is organizing
in
Chicago.
This event concerns 9 international schools in USA/CANADA/MEXICO and 174
students.
The Games will take place on Monday June 2nd, Tuesday June 3rd and
Wednesday June 4th.
The City of Chicago and the US Olympic Committe are partners and we are
working together to organize the best event as possible.
The city is giving us the fields for free, the US OC will give us
Athletes
of the US Olympic Team.
We will have also Joakim Noah for the ceremony awards.
The medias will be here like tv (CBS News, ESPN?).
My wish is to organize a kind of race/regatta on the lake on Wednesday
4th. I'd like all the students participing on it but not necessarily at
the same time.
Is it possible for you to organize that on boats knowing that they are
almost all beginners? Which kind of boats do you have? Is it possible to
have an instructeur per baot with them?
I've attached the official program and the official ad (United and
ArcelorMittal are going to be added on it).
If you have any questions, please, do not to contact me anytime!
Thank you very much,
Best regards,
