| List Name | Community Learning and Governance Network (CLG Network) |
| Purpose: | CLG-Net is the discussion forum for the Community Learning & Governance Network. The list is used to develop and discuss ideas for the Network's development as well as issues of concern to its members. The focus of the list is community learning and governance. The list will explore issues related to: - Frameworks that describe and processes that involve interactions among citizens, government, business, non-profit community organizations, and other stakeholders; - How community or regional information, especially indicators of community outcomes and public service performance, and related information systems, help a community learn, and support more effective governance and community development; - How community institutions and individuals interact in their efforts to achieve a healthy, resilient, and sustainable community, and how can they be more effective; and - What we mean by "community learning" and "collaborative governance." The Network is also meant as a forum for compiling and discussing case studies, best practices, and other resources relevant to the practice, evaluation, and development of community learning and governance systems. The list is hosted by the Loka Institute (http://www.Loka.org), and managed collaboratively by Loka, Chris Paterson (Sustainable Measures), and Paul Epstein (Epstein and Fass Associates). The American Society for Public Administration (ASPA, at http://aspanet.org) is also collaborating on the network by providing web space. For more information about the network, go to http://www.aspanet.org/partners/communitylearning.htm. (Scroll down that page for the downloadable documents that describe the network's formation.) |
