Hi, Folks
The City will be hosting a workshop to get public input for the Upper State
Street Study this Saturday, Oct. 14, at 9:00 am, at Hope School
Multi-purpose Room, 3970 La Colina Road.
If you can't make it to that one, another opportunity to attend the same
workshop will be held again at 6:30 pm on Thursday, Oct. 19 at the same
location (But, if you go to that one, make sure you stop by the COAST Autumn
Gathering at the SB Amtrak Station at 5 pm beforehand - Lois Capps and Marty
Blum will be guest speakers, and we will have plenty of food, wine, awards,
and entertainment.)
To get up to speed before the workshop, you can look over the Information
Booklet the City and its consultants have prepared. It is a very informative
document that discusses many aspects of urban design, including pedestrian
and bike accessibility, traffic circulation, parking, zoning, and growth
issues. The booklet is on-line, with a link from:

This is a very important study, which will not only help determine the
future of the Upper State St neighborhoods, but will also be the lead-in to
the "Santa Barbara 2030" General Plan update visioning process. Hope to see
you at the workshop, and also at our party!
