Hello, SBBIKE and COAST folks!

Another important event to educate the public about Measure D is being held
tomorrow (Saturday) and your help in getting the word out to encourage
people to attend would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks! -Naomi

Measure D 2006: Making the Right Choice
Saturday, October 14, 2006
1:00-3:00pm
Santa Barbara Public Library Main Branch – Faulkner Gallery
40 E. Anapamu Street, Santa Barbara
Sponsored by the Citizens Planning Foundation
PUBLIC WELCOME

Measure D is the largest most flexible funding we have for transportation
projects and programs. Approved in 1989, it will expire at the end of 2009,
and if voters reauthorize it, will generate over $1.6 BILLION for
transportation over the next 30 years. However, it will require a 2/3 vote
for passage.

How would Measure D's projects affect Santa Barbara County’s transportation
system? Panelists will share their thoughts on this important
issue. Questions will also be taken from the audience.

PANELISTS:

Salud Carbajal, 1st District County Supervisor
Dave Davis; Community Environmental Executive Director, member of the MTD
Board of Directors, and Former City of Santa Barbara Community Development
Director
Eva Inbar, Coalition for Sustainable Transportation Vice President of
Legislation
Richard Weinberg, Former Carpinteria Mayor
Das Williams, Santa Barbara City Councilman

The forum will be moderated by former Santa Barbara City Councilman Tom
Roberts.
