Barbecued Spareribs  Jed Wubben

1 tablespoon of cornstarch
1/3 cup of dark corn syrup
3 tablespoons of soy sauce
11/2 teaspoons ground ginger
2 tablespoons of vinegar
1 clove of garlic, crushed
2 lb. meaty spareribs

To prepare marinade, combine cornstarch, syrup, soy sauce, ginger,
vinegar and garlic. Cut spareribs into serving pieces and place in
single layer in shallow dish. Pour marinade over meat; refrigerate four
hours or overnight. Remove spareribs from marinade; season with salt and
pepper. Place in shallow baking dish; cover with aluminum foil. Bake in
350f oven 11/2 hours. Remove foil. Broil five inches from heat. Turn
once and baste frequently with sauce.
