Clipping Functions?

I had previously been using the development version, and figured I'd
swap to the release, for the possibility of more functionality.
So, I picked up the latest version, unpacked, compiled, and installed,
and it runs FINE! (None of those crappy Xlib errors I was getting with
the dev version).
So, I went to compile my app, and it complains that
ConstrainClippingRegion and GetClippingRegion are undefined. And, low
and behold they are!
Does anyone know why they were in the development version, but are
missing in the release?
