alternator replacement  ray nash
 Jun 04, 2009 06:53 PDT

I have just blown an alternator and had to use parts from my spare to
make a good one. They were both old Remy Delco, no part numbers, 2 inch
swivel mount, with a positive and ground terminal, an exciter post and a
2 wire plastic connector which fits on to 2 spade terminals. Not sure
what the amperage is. They are internally regulated. I have a Perkins
4236m 82hp engine. Does anyone have a similar config and can tell me
either the part number of the Remy Delcos they have or suggest a
replacement that fits and works.

I am in Grenada now and will be in Trinidad in a week or so and then
back to UK for a while, so have various options to supply.

Many thanks and regards to all,

Ray on Basilisk
