Dear friends of the American Composers Forum - DC Chapter,
Due to current economic conditions, the DC Chapter is currently
re-organizing, and we will no longer have any paid staff as of September
30, 2009. For several years, our single part-time staff position has
been steadily shrinking the "part-time" definition, and sadly we have to
now reduce it to zero.
What does this mean for chapter operations? That's something we should
work together to answer.
What services and benefits can the chapter continue to offer, and how
can we leverage volunteer power to make it happen?
New technologies have emerged that allow for highly efficient
information sharing and remote collaboration. It is my belief that the
chapter can continue to function as an important information hub - and
be more effective than ever, with the participation of members and
friends like you.
We are now just beginning to define the chapter's operations for the
future. If you have thoughts, concerns, suggestions, etc., please get in
touch so we can work together to re-define the DC Chapter and continue
to provide services that benefit composers and the field of contemporary
music throughout our region.
Thank you,
Jonathan Morris
