DiLillo Harrington, Co-Founders=0A> and Directors of MMT=0A> in Concert,=0A=
 cordially invite you to an evening of music, movement, and=0A> technology=
that=0A> weaves itself into a silvery spider's web of=0A> supernatural and=
human emotions,=0A> as we grasp to comprehend The Grieving=0A> Point.=A0=
=A0 These attempts=0A> at exploration and=0A> realization are inspired by t=
he works of Claudia Emerson=0A> Andrews, 2006 winner=0A> of the Pulitzer Pr=
ize for Poetry.=A0=0A> The evening is sponsored in part by a=0A> Subito Gra=
nt from the=0A> American Composers Forum, Washington, DC Chapter.=A0 This i=
nnovative company blends the=0A> talents of composer,=0A> choreographer, si=
nger, dancer, and computer technologist to=0A> carry you to a=0A> world whe=
re Electronic Voice Phenomena and human longing=0A> coexist.=0A> =0A> Pleas=
e join us.=0A> =0A> Project=0A> Description=0A> =0A> A=0A> word from Jesse.=
.."The=0A> genesis of this piece was a result of the fascinating audio=0A> =
findings heard on=0A> the show Ghost Hunters.=A0=0A> In order to=0A> better=
understand the fascination these sounds held for me,=0A> research was done=
=0A> on the devices and techniques that were used to capture=0A> these soun=
ds.=A0 The=0A> result...Electronic Voice=0A> Phenomena- recordings taken by=
paranormal investigators,=0A> which have become the=0A> thread of the work=
."=0A> =0A> A=0A> word from Joy... "The=0A> poetry of Claudia Emerson Andre=
ws was the perfect=0A> accompaniment to Jesse's=0A> research and I was capt=
ivated by the idea of creating=0A> movement to illustrate=0A> the longing I=
heard in those sounds.=A0=0A> The dancers involved in the project not only=
moved=0A> throughout the piece=0A> but manipulated live sound through thei=
r own body movements=0A> and through their=0A> location on stage."=0A> =0A>=
Jesse's=0A> Bio=0A> =0A> Most=0A> people would classify Jesse Guessford as=
an experimental=0A> composer, his family,=0A> however, thinks he should wr=
ite horror movie soundtracks.=0A> Over the years he has=0A> softened; occas=
ionally a chord may appear that is not fully=0A> dissonant.=0A> Generally, =
he sees himself taking the rules broken in the=0A> 50's and 60's (which=0A>=
are now half a century ago) and borrowing what he needs=0A> from different=
schools=0A> of thought for each piece. He subscribes to no set=0A> ideolog=
y, but that in itself=0A> is an ideology. He usually can be found composing=
for=0A> electronics, but then=0A> again he also composes for solo instrume=
nts and chamber=0A> groups, so it all=0A> depends on what is on the program=
. Also, he has a secret=0A> interest in becoming a=0A> lounge pianist, whic=
h does not fit in musically with his=0A> compositions. As a=0A> side note, =
he does have a doctorate in composition, which=0A> lends a hint of=0A> cred=
ibility to some of his crazy ideas. =0A> =0A> Joy's=0A> Bio=0A> =0A> Joy=0A=
