It’s Good Neighbor Desserts Friday!!
Welcome to our Good Neighbor Desserts edition of Dessert du Jour! On
Fridays we turn over the recipe presentation to you guys to share and
showcase your favorite dessert recipes with the DDJ neighbors. If you
have any questions about any of the recipes offered today, write an
email to the address given with that specific recipe. If you wish to
submit your own favorite, guidelines are at the end of this mailing. And
don’t forget to forward this mailing to all your friends!

Chocolate Cherry Cake
1 box Duncan Hines devil food cake mix
1 tsp. almond extract
2 eggs, beaten
1 can (16 oz.) cherry pie filling
Mix well and bake in 9 by 13 greased and floured pan at 350F degrees for
30 minutes.
ICING
1 c. sugar
5 tbsp. margarine
1/3 c. milk
6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate bits
Bring to a boil first 3 ingredients, stirring constantly. Let boil 1
minute. Remove from heat. Stir in 6 ounces semi-sweet bits. Stir until
melted. Pour over cake.

OLD FASHIONED OATMEAL COOKIES
1 pkg. Duncan Hines spice cake mix
2 1/2 c. uncooked rolled oats
2 eggs
3/4 c. cooking oil
1/2 c. milk
1 c. raisins
1 c. chopped nuts
1/4 c. dark brown sugar
Combine all ingredients and mix well. Drop from a teaspoon onto an
ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350F degrees for about 12 minutes.

Raspberry Cream Crunch
2 small boxes raspberry gelatin
2 cups boiling water
8 ounces cream cheese
1 (8 ounce) container whipped topping
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
5 to 6 cups frozen raspberries
Chopped pecans
Additional whipped topping (optional)
Whip cream cheese, whipped topping together and sweetened condensed
milk.
In separate bowl combine boiling water and gelatin. Fold 2 mixtures
together.
Place raspberries into the bottom of a decorative glass bowl. Pour the
mixture over raspberries. It almost instantly solidifies. Can
refrigerate if not stiff enough. Top with additional whipped topping and
pecans.

Easy Donut Recipe
1 Egg
1 cup milk
1-1/3 cups sugar
2 teaspoonfuls cream of tartar
1 teaspoonful baking soda
piece of butter the size of a walnut
1/4 teaspoonful cinnamon (or nutmeg)
pinch of salt
and flour enough to roll soft.
Method: Beat the egg and sugar together and add the milk and butter.
Stir the soda and cream of tartar into the flour, dry; mix all together,
with the flour and salt. Roll and cut into doughnut rings, and fry in
deep fat. Lay them on brown paper to cool when you take them from the
fat.
This easy donut recipe is taken from Mom's old recipe box. Enjoy eating
