Keep the detritus name on topica and just don't use the list. Do you
have a "nomail" setting? if so, put everyone on "no mail" so they are
still members. that way, ppl can still get to the archives.

I agree that the archives are the memory of the list. I did a little
digging, and it doesn't look like archives can be easily migrated off
Topica.
