Moving them on to Google would be a different story in terms of
feasability. It's not clear to me how many people actually use the
archives, but it's worthwhile preserving them in one form or another.

People should use the archives. Nothing more bothersome than people
asking the same questions over and over again that are in archives of
some sort.
Good move to go to Google! Thanks for doing it. Is the SFAS going
to officially run Detritus now or will it still be just a 'Bay Area
Fish Discussion List'?
