Craig Martinelli and I visited Clint at Stonebrook after yesterday's ride.

He has indeed lost some weight, is ornery as ever and looking forward to going home this coming week. He has memory lapses but was in much better shape than i expected. He walks with a cane, but does not seem to have a lot of difficulty with it.

His skull fracture was nearly fatal, but he is getting good reports from his doctors and the prognosis is for his memory of the event to gradually return. he also has some shoulder injuries that have not yet been treated, but he expects they will later. Suffers from headaches and finds it difficult to sleep - his mattress was on the floor at the rehab center, I assume to give him firmer support.

Marsha and Clint's daughter Sherry came in just before Craig and I left - we were there about an hour - and all three walked us out to our cars. Both Clint and Marsha are very appreciative of all shows of concern, and Marsha encourages visits to boost Clint's morale.

Subject: Clint update

Marsha West called me this morning (Thursday) to tell me Clint is out of the hospital. He is doing much better. He is in a convalescent hospital in Concord & really wants to come home. Marsha says he is asking about the club & would LOVE to have visitors. She says she expects him to be there for about a week & then he'll come home. He will still have a significant recovery period with regular physical therapy.

He is walking well & looks good (he's lost 35# I think Marsha said). But he is still recovering from the head trauma & has a way to go on his memory. If you visit him you may have to tell him who you are, but then he'll probably remember you.

As I said above, Clint would love visitors. Marsha would like you to contact her first & let her know you're coming. You can reach her at 685-1805. If she's not home, leave your number & she will call you back. Clint is in

        Stonebrook Heath Care Center
        4367 Concord Bl, Concord 94521

It's on the left just after Concord High School

If you're unable to visit, I'm sure cards or e-mails would be appreciated. Marsha's e-mil is: mlwest-@yahoo.com
