Case History of George, Part 1  Bobby Matherne
 Sep 24, 2009 11:37 PDT

Dear Friends on the World-Wide Doyletics List,

Often I've been asked about how to remove certain intractable doyles by
various individuals and counselors. In this case history of George, I
will share (with his permission, identity disguised) a series of emails
to and from George which will illustrate the most common way people have
trouble doing the speed trace. Often it occurs in those who have been
exposed to therapy, as in George's case.

For tough cases, it's best to remember that only these two things are
necessary for a successful speed trace:

HOLD

and

MARK

HOLD the doyle or having it holding you while going down your TIME
MARKS. Any defect will come from errors in HOLDing the doyle or skipping
huge gaps in the TIME MARKS.

Going to therapy teaches people to think constantly of other things when
their problem comes up, but to do a successful speed trace, one MUST
HOLD ONLY the problem doyle! Thinking of other things FIRES OFF
competing doyles and destroys any possibility of a successful speed
trace. With that introduction, follow with me as I re-construct the
sometimes frustrating exchange with George as he strives against all
odds to complete a speed trace of his hitherto intractable symptoms.

Much thanks goes to the young person who has agreed to allow me to share
with you his case history. He is doing well now and on his own.

most cordially,

Bobby

Background Email from George (name and identity details changed):

My name is George. I am 22 years old. I am a trainer at a gym and am
going to go school   to study computers at a local community college. I
am single with no children. The problems concerning me in my life are
easier to describe physically than psychologically. I have an ongoing
(all day everyday) feeling of tightness in my forehead, eyes, throat,
and butterflies in my stomach.

They are there from the moment I wake to the moment I sleep. The
tightness in my head feels like a mental block of some kind.

I can't get a grasp on what all these symptoms mean. They affect every
part of my life. I am debating on whether to go to school this coming
spring or not because I am afraid I will have
problems with concentrating due to these symptoms. I see a therapist
but nothing has gotten anywhere. This has been going on for a long
time, possibly years and years. Please let me know if this sounds
like the symptoms of a very large doyle. I say very large because
they seem to be in control of a very large part of my life.

My Reply to George:

Thanks for writing and having the courage to ask for help. And you're
doing early enough in life to make a big difference for the rest of your
life. I wish I had had the benefits of doyletics when I was your age.
The butterflies, the head tension, etc, all sound familiar.

Doyles are the physical body states such as those you mentioned which
arise as when doylic memories are "re-called" today which were stored
before you were five years old. 5 is the Memory Transition Age when we
go from storing memories solely as bodily states (doylic memories) to
storing them as what we call simply, memories (or cognitive or
conceptual memories to distinguish them from doylic memories).

A speed trace is a memory technique which allows you to convert doylic
memories into cognitive memories. It is not a therapeutic technique, but
it can have therapeutic consequences.

That is a thumbnail sketch of what you need to know to get started with
your speed traces.

First step is to do a food dislike trace. What food do you least like to
eat or try to avoid at all costs?

Get some of that food in your place where you can do your confirmed
speed trace. If there is absolutely no food you dislike, get back to me.

Your time marks will be 22, 20 18, 15, 12, 10, 8, 5 and then the usual
4, 3,2,1 etc as outlined in the INTRODUCTION Page.

You need to HOLD and MARK to be successful in a speed trace.

HOLD the doylic memory (or have it holding you)
then go down your Time
MARKs until the doyle goes away BELOW the Memory Transition Age of 5.

That's all there is to it. Your food dislike trace will make you
comfortable with the process and will provide you with undeniable
evidence that the process works. (If you started on a problem doyle, you
might not be sure it worked, so I always suggest the food dislike for
your first doyle.)

Help is on the way, so start right away and let me know if you need any
help along the way,

most cordially,

Bobby
