The One Way To Get Thousands in No-Cost Advertising From Major
Media

by Kevin Nunley

The only thing more elusive than the pot of gold at the end of
the rainbow are free ads. There's a rumor that you can get free
TV commercials -- but I've never found them. There's a rumor you
can get ads and not pay for them if you don't make sales -- but
good luck working out that deal. And the "free ads in newspapers
nationwide" usually turns out to be in very small publications
that hardly anybody reads.

There is ONE way to get lots of of free publicity from MAJOR
media and that's with a well written and properly distributed
press release. If your information is good, you'll get coverage.
Newspapers will include your name in stories they're writing.
Radio DJ's will talk about you. TV stations may even include you
in a story on the evening news.

But it's not automatic. Newspapers, stations, and major web
sites get thousands of press releases every day by mail, fax,
email, and even satellite download. Most of the releases are
little more than ads. That's not what editors want. They want
material they can use to interest their audiences. Unless your
information is timely and interesting, your release will be
deleted.

A while back I had the pleasure of a lengthy visit with George
McKenzie, owner of http://www.get-free-publicity.com A lot of
people give PR advice, but few know the real deal like George.
Before going online he spent many years working in television
news.

George says a press release works best when the headline makes
people in the media newsroom say "Hey, what's that!"

George is exactly right. I saw that situation happen many times
during the years I worked in radio and TV. A press release or
news story would arrive with a particularly exciting or juicy
headline and word would quickly spread around the newsroom.

Invariably, that story would get not only coverage, but
enthusiastic coverage. The article runs on the front page of a
section, the anchor person gives the lead-in a bit more effort,
the radio morning show team talks about you two or three times in
one hour. That's the kind of free publicity that gives your
sales a giant shot in the arm.

Get the "Hey, what's that!" response by giving media a story
THEY feel will REALLY interest the audience. Connect your
information with a super hot national headline. Connect your
story with a celebrity, high-profile local issue, or scandal.
Stories that are especially helpful, weird, funny, scary, or sexy
get special treatment.

"The more the merrier" applies to many things in marketing, but
not to press releases. Be wary of services that offer to send
your release to 11,000 or more media. There are only about 5,000
radio, TV, and newspapers that accept releases in the U.S. The
rest are highly specialized publications covering specific
industries.

By all means, send your press release to your local media and to
the trade publication that covers your kind of business. They'll
be the first to give you publicity. They will also produce the
most results for you.

Kevin Nunley spent 21 years in radio and TV before going online
in 1996. He will write your professional press release, get your
approval, and send it to thousands of radio, TV, and newspapers
nationwide. The affordable cost makes it the best PR deal on the
Net. See http://drnunley.com/release.asp   Reach Kevin at

Use What You Know Best To Excel In Business

by Matt Hurtado

With energy prices going up and the job market staying flat, a
great many of us are thinking about starting some kind of
business to earn some extra income.

You're probably also thinking in the back of your mind that your
business could take off, make a lot of money, and you could say
good-bye to your boss, commuting, and spending so much time away
from home.

Good for you! I KNOW you can do it and here's why.

Usually when people start thinking of going into business for
themselves, they concentrate on all the things they DON'T already
know. They try to learn more about computers, take a class at the
community school, read reports online, and talk to others who
have worked in the business.

Those things are good, but what will really help you excel in
business are things you ALREADY have and know how to do well.

* Do you show up for work on time day after day? That's
DISCIPLINE. It's the one must-have factor that separates the go-
getters from the tire kickers. You have to be able to set your
sights on something, know what you believe in, and not give up
easily. You have to show up and do your job day after day until
the cash starts rolling in. I know--that's common sense. But you
would be surprised at how many people fail at business simply
because they didn't give it a little discipline.

* Sell what you LIKE and KNOW. People like to buy from business
owners who not only know a lot about the product or service, but
are also ENTHUSIASTIC about it. It really helps if you know and
like what you're selling. If you have a hobby, base your
business around some aspect of that. One guy I know loves to
play the guitar, so now he makes a fine income selling used
guitars on eBay. I spent many years in body building and
fitness. Now I sell a popular line of health and wellness
products. If somebody wants to know why these products work, I
tell them, and I tell them with enthusiasm. It works remarkably
well.

* Team up with others. It's really beneficial to have help from
somebody who has been in the business a while. They can save you
countless hours by showing you the pitfalls of the industry.
They can also greatly speed up your progress by showing you what
works. But most importantly, a mentor can give you encouragement
when your enthusiasm and discipline is waning. We all have those
days when we get a little discouraged. An email or phone call
from a mentor can get you back on track fast. And that's what it
takes to succeed.

Consider these three important ideas before going into business.
Then know that you CAN succeed. Creating your own business can
be the best, most exciting thing you will ever do for yourself or
your family.

Starting a Business? Be Honest With Yourself For Success

by Warren Smith

This time of year a great many people are thinking about starting
their own business. There is nothing like an exciting business
idea to kick off the new year in style.

Unfortunately, most of the new businesses we'll see this month
won't make it through the next quarter. Why? In most cases the
business idea was solid, it just didn't fit the true needs of the
owner. To help ensure longevity and success, there are a few
things to keep in mind.

First, be honest with yourself about what you expect to get from
a business AND what you're prepared to give the business. You
may be concentrating on the parts of the business you really like
-- like earning a large income -- and ignore aspects you won't
like -- like selling to customers and completing paperwork.

Yet, in the average business, selling and office administration
take up most of your day. To really succeed in most businesses,
you have to LIKE selling and customer service. If you don't do
those things well or don't have the proper attitude, you simply
won't be able to stick around, much less reach your aggressive
income goals.

Even if you don't mind spending time on all aspects of the
business, you may not have the time to commit to it. Most of us
have to keep working jobs while we work on a new business.
Sometimes we simply don't have time to succeed.

Fortunately, you can easily outsource the things you don't like
to do while concentrating on the things you do. You can have an
outside service prospect for new customers. You can even find
others to sell for you such as marketing call centers,
affiliates, and partners.

There are services that will handle many of the customer service
and office administration tasks. A contract bookkeeper can
maintain your financial records working just a few hours a week,
even from his or her home or office.

Most importantly, make sure you use automated online tools.
Autoresponders, lead creation systems, and online ordering and
payment processing can literally automate many aspects of your
business. This is how thousands of online business gurus earn
fabulous incomes while traveling the world, and working just a
couple of hours one morning per week.

Warren Smith is offering a complete automated business system
that does all the prospecting and selling for you. This is
the ultimate business for anyone who needs a low-risk, easy
start-up opportunity. See the presentation and get a free gift

How Working Couples Can Get Their Relationship Back On Track

by Kenneth Yokota

Many couples working together are finding life and work meshing
into a very complex cocktail. Since distance often makes the
heart grow fonder, couples who work together, especially in an
entrepreneurial environment, face numerous problems, but believe
they are alone in their struggle to maintain strong business
relationship while striving to continue in life as husband wife
or partner.

Many couples have reported some of the pitfalls of their
entrepreneurial relationships with a loved one include lack of
personal space, thus feeling smothered by one’s partner. This is
especially easy when just starting out and office space is
limited.

Other partners say they expect a great marriage will make for a
great working situation. This often leads couples into rushing
into business opportunities without completely investigating the
business and how it will affect their relationship and that of
their children. This may happen when one partner expects what he
or she needs is what the other individual needs in the
relationship and business.

It’s important to remember when a couple begins a business, it is
often like four people getting involved, the couple (two people)
away from work and the couple (two people) at work. When this
happens some couples will battle when a crisis arises rather than
team up to solve the problem.

If any of the aforementioned situations raise their ugly heads,
mental health professionals say it is important to be secure
enough to do what is necessary to work through the problems and
not bottle up anger or resentment. This may include utilizing
outside help like a marriage counselor.

Nearly every counselor advises that work must NEVER enter a
couple’s bedroom. If a couple can have a strong intimate
relationship, that bond may be what that keeps the home and
business relationship above water.

Several websites, books and products are available to help
stressed out couples as they seek to keep their intimate
relationships new and exciting. Because couples under stress can
experience performance anxiety in the bedroom, products like
Virile For Men™, may enhance lovemaking as it assists couples who
want to achieve longer and more passionate sexual relations.

As business couples work through their personal, professional and
intimate relationships they will see an increase in their
productivity at work and happiness in their personal
relationships.

their relationship. See his site
