The defining e-commerce sources..

Hi All!
I'm currently working on the bones of my e-commerce & e-commerce
applications thesis. (60% research, 40% software)
I've gathered much material but i was wondering what you guys think
are the defining books or documents on e-commerce??
There's plenty of literature out there but i'd like to see what the
established experts have written so i can refer to them and make up my
own mind, and also to narrow the list of literature down to the most
relevant.
Also, i'm not getting alot of direction from my lecturers about an
e-commerce thesis and i was wondering about the style of the finished
document. For example, the layout, the reference system, navigation
etc that might be best for my type of document. Would anyone have a
good example of a finished IT or E-commerce thesis? I feel like i'm
being thrown in the deep end a bit here.
And finally, are there many other e-commerce based lists that are busy @ topica?
