List Name New ecumenical orientations – Leonhard Ragaz group - Socialists for Peace! (Ecumenics)
Purpose: No war: Christian and non-Christian united for a non-violent and democratic socialism. This is a ML for an interdenomination Christian-Jew friendship, inspired to Leonhard Ragaz, a Swiss evangelic pastor. A brief presentation woul be appropriate before subcribing. It is an informational and educational newsletter which will be sent to different Christian and Jew believers who confront each others in peacefull way and belong to different churches or temples and different countries but have a common will to come togheter along the hard path of ecumenism. In the outlook of the "universal priesthood of believers" we wonder chiefly how live the Faith, promote Peace and Justice and protect the Creation.
The “new ecumenical orientations” is opened to dialogue and confrontation with other existing confessions and with non-believers. It has been established in 1999, it doesn’t receive any funds from parties or religous assosiations and it allows Jew belieavers to take part to its initiaves by written participation.
It publishes articles translated in french and english besides a wide range of press release documents of different no- profit organizations linked to our group.
This message is dedicated to Dietrich Bonhoefer:
“We must act and dare the appropiateness and not whatever comes to our mind
not floating in the likelihood but grasp the reality as brave as we can be
freedom lies in action not in the absence of mind
obedience knows the essence of good and satisfies it,
freedom dares to act and returns God the ultimate judgment of what is right and what is wrong,
Obedience performs blindly
but Freedom is wide awake
Freedom wants to know why,
Obedience has its hands tied, Freedom is inventive
obedient man respects God’s commands
and by virtu of his Freedom, he creats new commands.
Both Obedience and Freedom come true in responsability
(Dietrich Bonhoeffer)
