the definition of servlets SHOULD be that they are protocol-indepent...
that you could have ftp servlets or telnet servlets or what-have-you-servlets.

this might be true but how can I run them within a standard
servlet runner??

all the servlet runners are assuming that all the clients
connect using http!


not a big hang-up in the long run but short-term irksome.


progress continues very nicely, I have gained mastery
of deploying custom tags, jsp pages and servlets
on Resin and hope to actually implement that
JSP page in the previous example "soon"...
