to my credit, I DID list this in earlier documents but I dropped
this on the floor.
one of the formats we need to handle is
EMAIL.
we need it:
-- for authentication of passwords
-- for notification (events, people, etc)
-- even for sending commands to systems like chess!

the chess one seems stupid unless you consider it "postal chess".
