Need a vacation? Get your work out of the way with Editor's ToolKit
Plus, our premier add-in for Microsoft Word. The program automatically
cleans up common editorial and typographical problems, converts
automatically numbering notes to text (or vice versa), converts files
for QuarkXPress, and makes editing a snap (well, snappier than usual).
Why not try it today and get away tomorrow?

USEFUL DOWNLOADS
By Jack M. Lyon
Okay, I admit it: I'm a software junkie. I sometimes spend hours
finding, downloading, and playing with new programs that I think might
increase my productivity. Here are a few of my recent finds:
Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File
Formats. If you have Word XP or 2003 and need to save documents in the
new 2007 XML format, here's the answer:

The OpenXML/ODF Translator Add-in makes it possible to open and save in
OpenDocument format (ODF)--the format used in OpenOffice.org's office
suite (which is free and powerful). The add-in comes with a command line
translator that provides batch conversions.

Office Accounting Express is Microsoft's free accounting package. If
you're running a small business, or if you're a freelancer, this may be
just what you need to keep your books.

There's also a tax integration add-in.

READERS WRITE
After reading "The Need for Speed" in the June 14 newsletter, Judy Stein
wrote:
I seem to work most efficiently using a combination of keyboard and
mouse. My main speed trick is the right-click edit menu: I've put my
most frequently used menu items and macros on it (and gotten rid of the
default items that I don't use often).
Many thanks to Judy. If you have questions, hints, or comments you'd
like to share, please send an email message here:

I *love* SpamArrest. After unsuccessfully trying to fight the battle
against junk email with a couple of top-notch programs, I decided to try
SpamArrest, and I'm thrilled to say it's actually won the war. Boy, has
my email been quiet! When people send me an email message, they receive
a message in return asking them to click a link to register themselves
(a one-time operation) as someone who can send me email. Spammers, of
course, won't bother to do this, which basically means no more spam!
It's easy to preregister family, friends, associates, and email
newsletters. The online program (no software installed on your computer)
provides complete control over how spam is handled, and it's very easy
to use. You can try SpamArrest for 30 days at no charge. To learn more,
